Building on the success of our original Landcruiser VDJ200 stainless airbox, the team at PDC have taken what was already an industry benchmark and redeveloped it to push the product’s filtration and airflow performance to previously unheard-of levels. If you are looking for increased power and torque, fuel economy improvements, increased reliability of the airbox seal or increased filtration performance, this is the airbox for you.

When coupled with an A5001R Ryco NanoCel™ High Efficiency Air Filter (available at additional cost), this airbox/filter package delivers 99.99% filtration efficiency, verified by Ryco’s Australian test facility.

Testing under ISO5011 protocols also demonstrated a 47.4% reduction in airflow restriction when compared to the standard Landcruiser airbox and a 37.6% reduction when compared to our competitor’s aftermarket plastic airbox. While the increased flow capacity of this airbox will benefit standard vehicles in many ways, the airbox really comes into its own when installed in tuned or modified vehicles.

Turbo’s do a great job pushing air from the compressor outlet, but quickly lose efficiency when faced with inlet restrictions. This makes a free-flowing airbox and filter combination especially valuable, with the turbo not having to work as hard to reach the engines boost or airflow targets. This in turn allows the engine to operate with reduced exhaust backpressure and lower EGT’s.

It's well understood that the standard plastic airbox struggles to seal effectively on the filter, resulting in intake air bypassing the filter element and unfiltered dirty air finding its way directly into your engine. Our solution is to increase the stiffness of the airbox, manufacturing it from 304 stainless steel and utilising 4x bolts to clamp the airbox lid to the base, simply and reliably sandwiching the filter seal, completely preventing intake air from bypassing the filter element. 

Fabricated in Pakenham, Victoria, the build quality is second to none, this is an airbox that you can count on wherever you are. Providing stylish fitment, this black powder coated stainless steel airbox seamlessly integrates with your vehicle, picking up factory mounts in the engine bay and utilising the standard MAF and wiring loom.

This new airbox is based around the Toyota 17801-51020/Ryco A1634/Ryco A5001R family of air filters, meaning replacement filters are readily available and you will never be stuck in a remote town waiting for a bespoke filter element to be delivered.

This is a complete ready to install kit, comes fitted with the STANDARD RYCO A1634 Filter. If you wish to have the NanoCel RYCO filter installed into the airbox instead, please add this option in your cart.
