Tree trunk protectors are designed & used to protect the tree when winching your vehicle to safety in a recovery.

If you don't use a tree trunk protector you risk damaging both the tree & your winch rope, over time the tree may also die due to the damge inflicted. Tree Trunk protectors also serve a dual purpose & can be used as an Equaliser/bridle strap between the rated recovery points on your vehicle.
