The Amarok tailgate has the capacity for a large amount of lockable storage. Despite all the space available in modern utes, there often isn't any great location for small kit that you don't want just floating around your tub such as 4wd recovery equipment and first aid gear.
 
This precision laser cut steel modification plate allows you to turn your tailgate into a locked compartment within your car. You can use the space to store recovery gear, spare parts or anything else that will fit and you want to keep secure.
 
This tailgate mod provides 36L of readily accessible storage! The internal compartment measures 1200mm long, 300mm wide and 100mm deep. Fully lockable it comes with gas struts to keep the lid steady when open and a carpeted interior. Once installed, this tailgate is easily as strong as the factory tailgate.

Add Optional Tailgate Lid Protector Sheet - This sheet is made from highly durable polycarbonate chopping board material and comes pre-applied to the lid of your tailgate. Selecting this option is highly recommended if you regularly use your tailgate to drag heavy items in and out of the tub, if you like to sit on the tailgate or if you use it as a preparation area when camping. The protector sheet is replaceable like a screen protector for your phone, so can be renewed after heavy use to have your tailgate looking as good as new! Only adds an extra 2mm to your kit.

This LED strip mounts to the bottom side of the storage lid and runs from a self contained 9v battery. If you have the know-how, you can also wire it directly into your cars 12v system!
 
This is only required if you have an open tub (I.E No canopy or tonneau cover). It is a custom-designed rain seal that prevents rain from getting between the door and storage box. Simple installation.

Also available for purchase is the Spot Weld Removal Tool from Huracan. Use this tool to quickly and easily remove spot welds from your tailgate and make installation of your tailgate storage unit smoother and easier. Please add one to your cart when checking out.

This DIY kit requires access to an angle grinder, metal file, drill, basic hand tools and a little DIY knowledge. Some of the original tailgate must be removed in order to fit this storage compartment. If you don't feel comfortable installing then we recommend using a professional installer.
 
*These are not currently compatible with the HSP tailgate central locking kit or if you have a Roll and Lock style tonneau cover.
